Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca stated on Friday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the team's significant Premier League match against local opponents Arsenal.

The 23-year-old England midfielder had been sidelined due to a fractured toe suffered after an unfortunate incident.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca declared. “The whole team is delighted.”

This season, Palmer has featured in just four games across all competitions, netting two goals.

After joining from Manchester City in the previous year, he has achieved 45 strikes and 29 setups in 101 appearances for the London club.

“He is our best player, we are delighted he is back, we need to allow him time to be completely ready,” Maresca noted. “He has done fantastic in the past and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

The Merseyside club were unsuccessful in their challenge against Idrissa Gueye's red card for an on-field altercation with fellow player Michael Keane during the team's narrow win at Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Senegalese player was dismissed just early on into the match after hitting Keane amid a dispute over a misplaced pass.

Gueye quickly said sorry, and the teammates appeared reconciled afterwards in a mock social media post.

However, the appeal against the red card was denied, and Gueye must complete a three-game ban, making Everton depleted for their next fixture against Newcastle United.

“We challenged the decision and it was rejected,” manager David Moyes stated. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

Inquired about any further fallout from the event, Moyes continued: “The matter was resolved instantly, it was done, that was it, we progressed swiftly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

Third Story: Yoane Wissa Trains with Newcastle for First Time since Injury

Newcastle United's recent signing Yoane Wissa has trained with his squad for the first time since sustaining a knee problem shortly after his arrival from his former club in September.

Manager Eddie Howe confirmed the news on the end of the week but kept private a possible return date for the player.

Newcastle signed the striker for a significant fee to replace Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool for a British record sum.

Regrettably, Wissa was injured while on national team duty before he could make his debut for Newcastle.

“He is progressing nicely, he trained with us for the first time on Wednesday, so I was very happy with how he looked,” Howe stated. “That’s his first time competitively with the group. Let’s see how he reacts today.”

West Ham United head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has stated that the reigning champions' recent poor form “should not be a focus” as his team prepares to face the struggling Premier League title holders.

Nottingham Forest's boss Sean Dyche is optimistic that Morgan Gibbs-White will be ready for the side's at home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The England player was absent for the midweek European game against the Swedish side due to a back injury.

“Fortunately, it seems to be calming down,” Dyche said as he got ready to face the Brighton manager's side, who have secured a decent haul from their last three outings.

“It’s like a bad back, but a waking-up sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not expecting, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s easing already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be right for the weekend.”

Murillo was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring after the 3-0 European win, but Dyche said the player “will likely be available”.

Meanwhile, Ola Aina (thigh injury), the midfielder (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), the striker (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to be unavailable.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner believes that the disappointment of midweek's Conference League defeat to the French side is a sign of how much progress the club has come in challenging on two fronts.
