The City boss confessed feeling "shame" after a confrontation with a TV crew member subsequent to the Citizens' loss at Newcastle this past weekend.

When the match concluded, a visibly upset Guardiola entered the St James’ Park pitch and had heated discussions with match official Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, and also touched the broadcast crew's equipment.

"I said sorry," the manager remarked. "I'm humiliated, regretful, when I see it. It's not acceptable. I immediately apologized to the cameraman. That's just me. After 1,000 games I’m not a perfect person, errors happen."

Regarding his confrontation with the Newcastle player, Guardiola said: "I've known him for many years and every time after the game, even at the Etihad, we converse. Our paths always cross and I always have a good relationship. I love it. I’m an emotional guy, I love to talk and move my hands."

He wouldn't mind should a rival coach spoke to his players immediately after a game. "Not if it's respectful like I always have done, it’s not a problem," he said, before referencing Barrott. "He was part of it for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, he was involved. Goodness, he was involved."

Controversial Decisions

City were unhappy that the officials did not award City a penalty for a Fabian Schär challenge on Phil Foden, and doubted Bruno's positioning on Barnes' goal Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Pictures published later indicate the Brazilian was onside.

Upcoming Milestone

Guardiola will take charge of his 100th Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday. "That's impressive, it means that every season we have been there," he commented.

City have 10 points from four matches of the league phase, while Leverkusen have five.
